Mr. Hankin is a rare breed in the legal profession: A partner in Lytton Williams Messina & Hankin, LLP and head of the firm’s Newport Beach office, he has effectively combined his success as an experienced lawyer while maintaining his CPA license continuously during his 37 years in practice. Mr. Hankin has used his vast knowledge about business-related matters to counsel his clients and litigate for them in business formation, operation, dissolution and transaction; the preparation of estate-planning documents, conservatorships, guardianships, and powers of attorney; and trust and probate cases, will contests and trust contests. He has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and other regulatory agencies.
Mr. Hankin’s distinctive legal-business acumen is what separates his services from his peers’. Very few, if any, attorneys know more about and have greater experience in every element of creating, maintaining and protecting businesses. His success in this capacity, as well as in an assortment of other legal specialties, speaks for itself. He believes that effective communication with the client should occur in all aspects of quality legal representation.
Mr. Hankin has been lauded by his peers, earning Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating and its prestigious “Preeminent” distinction, among many other accolades. He is a member of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the OC Bar Association.
“I grew up in a family of CPAs,” he said. “I didn’t want to practice accounting. Accountants always dealt with matters after they occurred; as an attorney, I have the opportunity to be in at the beginning. Assisting clients early on provides a huge advantage; regardless, help at any time will always be beneficial.
“I represent my clients as if they’re family members,” he added. “The bottom line: They all get top-notch service.”
